Annie Farmer: Maxwell Gave Me a Topless Massage When I Was Only 16 l

At just 16 years old, Annie Farmer arrived at Jeffrey Epstein’s New Mexico ranch expecting a summer of intellectual opportunity—only to find herself alone in a room with Ghislaine Maxwell, who insisted on giving her a “massage” that quickly turned deeply disturbing.

Annie later testified that Maxwell, fully clothed, directed her to remove her top, then rubbed her bare breasts and body in a sexualized way that left the teenager frozen with shock, confusion, and violation. The encounter, she said, was part of Epstein and Maxwell’s calculated grooming, designed to normalize abuse under the guise of care and mentorship.

Annie became one of the few victims to see Maxwell convicted in 2021, her powerful courtroom testimony helping secure justice.

Yet questions linger about the full reach of their network—and who else knew.

At just 16 years old, Annie Farmer arrived at Jeffrey Epstein’s sprawling Zorro Ranch in New Mexico expecting a summer of intellectual opportunity—only to find herself alone in a room with Ghislaine Maxwell, who insisted on giving her a “massage” that quickly turned deeply disturbing.

Annie Farmer, then a high school junior from Arizona, first met Epstein in late 1995 or early 1996 during a trip to New York City to visit her older sister, Maria Farmer, who was working as an artist for Epstein in his Manhattan townhouse. Epstein, intrigued by Annie’s academic ambitions and interest in attending a prestigious college, promised to help with her education and future opportunities. He paid for her plane ticket to his remote ranch near Santa Fe in spring 1996, framing the visit as an enriching getaway. Annie initially felt somewhat reassured when she learned Ghislaine Maxwell—Epstein’s sophisticated British companion—would be present, believing it provided a layer of safety.

The trip, however, unfolded differently. Annie testified during Ghislaine Maxwell’s 2021 federal sex-trafficking trial in Manhattan that the atmosphere grew uneasy. Epstein held her hand and touched her foot and leg during a movie outing, behavior she found inappropriate but which went unchallenged in front of Maxwell. Back at the ranch, Maxwell demonstrated how to give Epstein a foot massage—each woman taking one foot—while Epstein groaned in apparent pleasure. Maxwell then repeatedly asked if Annie wanted a professional massage herself, presenting it as a relaxing, beneficial experience.

Annie agreed, expecting something innocent. She undressed and lay face-down under a sheet on a massage table. Maxwell began rubbing her back and legs, then instructed her to roll over. As Annie complied, Maxwell pulled the sheet down, exposing her breasts, and began rubbing her chest and upper breasts in a sexualized manner. Annie, frozen with shock, confusion, and a sense of violation, later told the jury she “wanted so badly to get off the table” but felt paralyzed, isolated on the vast ranch with no easy escape. She described the encounter as deeply disturbing, leaving her feeling sick to her stomach.

The incident was part of a broader pattern of grooming, Annie testified: normalizing boundary violations under the guise of care, mentorship, and luxury. Epstein later climbed into her bed, cuddling her inappropriately and pressing his body against hers, further escalating the abuse.

Annie became one of four key accusers whose testimony helped convict Maxwell in December 2021 on five of six counts related to sex trafficking minors, resulting in a 20-year prison sentence. As the only accuser to testify under her real name (now a psychologist), Annie’s powerful, unflinching courtroom account—delivered with clarity and composure—played a crucial role in securing justice. Her sister Maria had reported Epstein to the FBI as early as 1996 about related abuses and stolen nude photos of the sisters, but those complaints were ignored for decades.

Yet questions linger about the full reach of Epstein and Maxwell’s network—and who else knew or enabled it. Epstein died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial, and despite ongoing document releases (including confirmations of Maria’s early reports in 2025), many aspects of the elite circle that sustained the operation remain obscured. Annie’s courage in speaking out continues to highlight the long-term trauma of grooming and abuse, while underscoring the failures that allowed such predation to persist unchecked for years.
