Hidden Names and Broken Promises: Epstein Survivors Decry DOJ’s Partial, Redacted File Release
The latest Epstein document release on December 19, 2025, has ignited heartbreak and outrage among survivors, who view the heavily blacked-out files as a deliberate effort to conceal over a thousand names and protect the elite from scrutiny. Brave voices like Marina Lacerda and Ashley Rubright have stepped forward, branding the partial dump a cover-up that robs victims of long-fought justice.
Lacerda, abused starting at 14, called it “a slap in our faces,” frustrated by irrelevant photos and missing critical details. Rubright and others echoed this, struggling to find personal records amid the chaos of redactions. Gloria Allred highlighted errors exposing some survivor names while withholding others, declaring the system has utterly failed.
Sky Roberts, brother of the late Virginia Giuffre—a key accuser who tragically died by suicide in April—described feelings of being “gaslighted” by the DOJ’s limited offering, estimating only 10% of holdings released. Entire sections, including grand jury materials, vanished behind black bars, fueling accusations of shielding “politically exposed persons.”
Bipartisan lawmakers decried the noncompliance with the Transparency Act, noting withheld FBI interviews and memos. Some files, including photos of prominent figures, mysteriously disappeared post-release, intensifying suspicions.
