DOJ’s Redacted Epstein Files Ignite Fury: Sky Roberts Slams Ongoing Protection of the Elite
Sky Roberts, grieving brother of Epstein survivor Virginia Giuffre, has unleashed sharp criticism against the Department of Justice following its December 19, 2025, release of Epstein files—describing it as a “shocking betrayal” riddled with redactions that hide thousands of documents and shield elite figures from scrutiny. Roberts told reporters the limited disclosure evokes feelings of being “gaslighted,” as survivors anticipated full transparency under the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The DOJ posted materials online, including photos and logs, but heavy blackouts dominated, with some multi-page sections entirely obscured. Lawmakers from both parties, including Rep. Thomas Massie and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, decried the incomplete rollout, noting violations of the law’s spirit barring redactions solely for embarrassment to public figures.
Roberts highlighted the irony: Giuffre dedicated her life to exposing Epstein’s network, only for her death to precede a release that withholds potentially explosive details. Expected revelations—like names of prominent associates—were absent, deepening suspicions of cover-ups. His sister-in-law Amanda added that “nothing the DOJ does comes as a surprise,” reflecting eroded trust.
The files stem from investigations into Epstein’s trafficking ring, involving figures like Ghislaine Maxwell (serving 20 years). Yet, with ongoing reviews cited for delays and broad redactions (even of law enforcement names), victims feel justice delayed again. Calls for impeachment threats, lawsuits, and congressional subpoenas have intensified.
Roberts vows to continue fighting for his sister’s legacy, demanding unredacted truth to honor survivors. As more tranches are promised, the saga raises urgent questions: What bombshells remain concealed, and why does protection for the powerful persist? In this era of promised accountability, the redactions speak volumes about lingering shadows over Epstein’s web.
